With many different activities to offer, it is not as well known for tourism, but it will amaze you as much as Palermo or Belgrano, without hesitation.
It is called “Colegiales”, because this was where the students of the schools enjoyed their vacations.
It is confused and linked a lot to Chacarita, another neighborhood little traveled by tourists, but here we tell you everything you can do too!
With a lot of street art, countless gastronomic offers, residential areas and design shops, it grew over time, to have the importance and offer of Palermo.
From the Colegiales Station, to Av. Cabildo, you will find tall and large buildings, and it is on this avenue that you will find the greatest amount of movement, both of people and cars. You will find the area of large mansions and beautiful houses between De los Incas and Elcano Avenues.

MERCADO DE PULGAS (FLEA MARKET)
Surely, you have already heard about this place, since it is a total reference in the neighborhood.
Here, endless utensils, furniture, paintings, instruments, vintage objects, sculptures and porcelain can be found. Relics and props that will catch your eye, along with thousands of antiques and collectibles things.
It is a huge warehouse, full of stores with products of all kinds!
But, even if you don’t want to buy anything, visiting it is a walk in itself. Not only because of the product offer, but also because you will feel that you travel in time between stores. In addition, you will be able to enjoy the gastronomy that it offers, with options for all tastes.
You’re not going to realize it, but you’re going to end up spending a couple of hours in here!
Located on Av. Álvarez Thomas and Dorrego, it opens its doors from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

STREET ART
As in Palermo, one of the neighboring neighborhoods, you will be able to find a lot of Street art. Colegiales has become an area for young artists and its walls reflect this.
When you walk its streets, pay close attention, since its walls have truly exponential and important works of urban art, which provide color and life to the constructions of the place.
The streets with low houses and trees, give it an extra tone of a quiet place to walk and enjoy the view.

MAFALDA SQUARE: TRIBUTE TO QUINO
If there is something for which Colegiales is known worldwide, it is thanks to Quino, a famous Argentine humorist, creator of the Mafalda Cartoon, a girl who hates soup and lives in Colegiales with her family.
Currently, Mafalda Square stands between Concepción Arenal and Conde streets, in honor of our beloved Quino.
Here you can find illustrations and pictures of the cartoon and its characters. A beautiful plan to enjoy a moment outdoors and rest for a while in nature!
PASSAGES OF CHARM
In addition to visiting the Mafalda Square and walking the Flea Market, opening your eyes wide to enjoy the street art around you, we recommend that you visit the General Paz Passage, designed by Pedro Vinent in 1925.
The architect and engineer managed to create a passage with a double access road: Zapata 552 and Ciudad de la Paz 561 streets. A building of 57 collective houses around the rectangular gallery and with a view of an internal patio with plants and beautiful tiles.
Currently, it is a private area, but don’t give up, maybe you will be lucky and you can walk inside it and enjoy its balconies and details. One tip is to have a drink at the Café next door, Pipí Cucú, and take advantage if its side door is open!
Another passage to visit is Gorostiaga, which is more of a false passage because it is not a dead-end street nor does it have only one section, but rather continues towards Av. Del Libertador. Likewise, here you will find 100 meters of architectural styles and centuries-old houses in the same street. French academicism is mixed with the neocolonial style, art deco and tudor.
GASTRONOMY
Undoubtedly, this neighborhood has a huge gastronomic offer that you cannot miss!
Formerly, its cafes were frequented by great Tango personalities, such as the “Argos” Café, located on Álvarez Thomas and Federico Lacroze. Their pool tables remain intact!
But, currently, the area has a Gourmet Gastronomy corridor on Av. Elcano, which has endless options to eat.
Likewise, you will find in the surroundings, small bars or restaurants camouflaged among the residential houses of the place. For this reason, we recommend you to explore the neighborhood and go where your sense of smell and palate take you!
